Created by men, and only men, it upheld what our founding fathers wished for our country. Congress, until around 1914, consisted of men and their opinions for the country. One would know that men have been there since day one and are still there today. But one would not commonly know is how and when a woman decided to make a change in the times and stand up for her beliefs. She was the very first woman in Congress, and stood against foreign war involvement. She held her head high against popular opinion and openly expressed the importance of women s suffrage to the minds of those around her. During her time helping people in the settlement houses, Rankin realized she wanted to be a social worker, and ended up studying at the New York School of Philanthropy for a while as well as the Columbia University of Social Work. After unhappily working in an orphanage in Spokane, Washington she headed to Seattle and attended the University of Washington. There she began her career in woman suffrage, and what would be her life’s legacy. Rankin went home for Christmas in 1910 and found out that someone in the legislature wanted to pass a bill with in the next month to give the state’s women the right to vote. For the first time, Jeannette faced a room full of men to address the legislature about giving women the right to vote. Even though the measure failed to pass, Rankin’s name was now widely known in multiple states. From there on, Jeannette Rankin traveled to New York and met a significant amount of women activists and reformers. She met Katherine Anthony, not being married, and began an intimate relationship with the brilliant biographer. On March 3, 1913 Rankin marched in the Great Suffrage Parade in Washington, D.C.1914. Rankin then traveled back to Montana where the women’s suffrage amendment passed in 1913 and was to be voted on by the voters of the state. It is generally the common consensus that stereotyping and prejudice should not continue. However without stereotypes we may find the social world a lot harder to perceive and understand. We rely on stereotypes to h elp us function in society. With such a diverse population, the environment we live in could be very confusing. A similar comparison could be made to fictional characters/super heroes in comics such as Superman. They save the weak and bring down the villain while also leading normal lives. But despite doing this, these super heroes still posses certain vulnerabilities, in the instance of superman, he possesses a weakness to kryptonite. In the same sense, members of the brotherhood have their own weaknesses. Therefore, it is fair to say that there is some presence of a comic book nature in Stokers writings, and the characters in the book represent this. I believe that the men in the novel feel threatened by Dracula, who is a perfectly attractive, who is physically powerful, and more importantly targeting their women. The men may have felt that this new species may lure their women away from them, since it can be seen that his prey needs some sort of willingness or co-operation for him to act. It is not clear in the novel if Jonathan and Mina have consummated their marriage, since Jonathan was in such a bad state at the time of the wedding, yet later in the play he again shows inadequacies in the bedroom department, and can only watch Mina sucking at the chest of Dracula having been paralysed by the more dominant figure, Dracula. In the novel, personal and universal strengths and weaknesses are present in the Band of Brothers. Since all the characters concerned are human, there is no distinct line between the two, perhaps rather they represent individuality of characters. Due to the groups enthusiasm, and their keenness to save their beloved from Dracula, they play directly into the hands of Dracula, and this can be seen in London. This shows that the eager and hunger of the man exploits their weakness of not thinking correctly, rushing into things and a little gullibility. Although his faith is strong in the beginning of the novel Antonio witnesses his Father kill a man.After that moment he becomes fitful of his faith and wonders why events occur the way they do. His mother believes that he has the capabilities to one day become a priest although his father would love to see his son enjoy the life of a cowboy. The story is about how a group of people angered the gods and they turned all the people into carp.But one god loved the people so much that he asked to be turned into a carp as well. Because he was a god they made him very big and made him of gold. After the story, Antonio states â€Å"The Golden Carp†¦ A new God (peg 129). † This shows a moment of realization for Antonio because he knows that not everybody is catholic and God has a different meaning to everyone. Quickly his ideas about God and religion start to shift. As the novel continues, numerous moral questions begin to arise as he sees more death and hatred. It is much more than he has every experienced before.His mom wishes to hide him from the hateful things that occur outside his door, but she realizes she can only do so much to protect him. He will have to figure out the ways of life for himself. He gains wisdom from the people around him and he learns that to gain happiness because he must be at peace with his identity. He will never truly understand the reason evil occurs, he feels it is too complicated for anyone to understand. He concludes that by being the best person he can be, he will obtain the happiness he desires.

The word ‘tree’ represents a tree as an aesthetic, an encompassing notion versus a specific image of a s ingular tree. There is a broader spectrum for understanding when something is visual. Depending of what language you speak, the framework of our semantic foundation, the meaning of a word varies drastically. People that speak different languages all see something in a photograph or painting and could tell you what it is they see, but the differences in our semantic thinking, language of words classifying information, will make it different. When a human is in early development stages as a child, the first initial way to communicate for them is visual information. Before children learn to read and write they draw, watch television, look at picture books. Then they are given teachings of communicating visuals to word. During the Paleolithic Period, 40,000–8,000 BCE, nomadic people painted in caves as a wondrous early way of communication, sharing information with others. An incredible example is the Hall of Bulls in the Lasceux Caves located in France in 15,000 BCE. These humans could not read or write and yet the visual information they represented with these paintings is breathtaking.
